Tyrone DuBose
America’s Premier R&B Historian

Tyrone DuBose is widely recognized as America’s premier R&B music historian, radio host, and music authority. Renowned for his distinctive bass-baritone voice, the Cincinnati, Ohio native first captivated audiences as the host of Timeless Traxx, a nationally syndicated radio program that aired on more than 40 stations and built an international following across five countries.

Listeners also know Tyrone as the voice at KHWY in Barstow California, as well as behind numerous national television and radio commercials, award shows, and major broadcast platforms throughout the United States. Mentored by his idol, the legendary Casey Kasem of American Top 40, Tyrone developed an unparalleled depth of knowledge and storytelling ability rooted in R&B music history.

His expertise has made him a trusted contributor and on-air commentator for the NAACP Image Award–winning TV One series Unsung, where he shares compelling insights that illuminate the lives and careers of under-recognized music legends. Tyrone continues this mission across national platforms and around the country, educating and engaging music lovers with fascinating facts about their favorite recording artists.

Tyrone is also part of the iHeartRadio family, delivering the audio edition of his award-winning segment, A Moment in Music History, on WDIA in Memphis. The one-minute feature highlights the rich legacy of classic R&B artists and groups. The video version of A Moment in Music History, produced for the TNS Network, has surpassed 400,000 views across social media and also airs on the Kweli Television Network. Additionally, Tyrone was a vital contributor to The Sheryl Underwood Radio Program. DuBose is also a celebrity favorite on music cruises as an announcer and his famous R&B trivia events that keep the crowd engaged and having fun.

A three-time Black Music Award winner and four-time Hollywood African Prestigious Award recipient, Tyrone has also been honored with the Legendary Good Man Award in his hometown of Cincinnati and the Lifetime Achievement Award from UView Media in Los Angeles. In April 2024, he was inducted into the California Music Hall of Fame, further cementing his legacy.
